I'm attaching the information on how to read the Remington Manufacture Date Codes.

Files are in .PDF format for download, or printing.

Thanks Eric, I believe my 592M was built Nov. 1970. I have also bought a 591M which is being shipped to me now. Again Thanks for the information.

No problem! I wish I had a 592 along with my 591!

Hello Eric, does the serial numbers on the 591M and the 592M have any significance? Are the serial numbers in order that they were built? The 591 serial number starts out 107XXXX and the 592 is 105XXXX. Also the 591 was built Feb. 1971 and the 592 was built Nov.1970. Thanks, George

Hi George,

I do not believe that the serial numbers have any significance, other than to track the firearm. I'm assuming they were in some kind of order, depending on the Model #, but I am not sure.

I hope this helps!
